Practical use cases
These are example results. A random selection can produce a different result each time.
Run a workshop in two groups
Paste eight participant names and choose two teams. The tool assigns each person once, producing two groups of four. Share the result before starting the activity. This balances group sizes, not skills or experience; if an activity requires particular abilities in each team, review the random assignment before using it.
Example:Team 1: Anna, Maya, Nora, Leo. Team 2: Luca, Omar, Sofia, Adam.
Split ten students into three groups
Enter ten different names and request three teams. Since ten cannot be divided evenly by three, one group has four members and the other two have three. Every student still appears exactly once. Copy or download the result to keep that arrangement; generating again creates a new assignment.
Example:Group sizes: 4 + 3 + 3 = 10 students.
Create three pairs for practice
Enter six participants and set the number of teams to three. Each team will contain two people, making this useful for paired language exercises or peer review. Count the teams rather than entering the number of people per team. To change partners in another round, generate again, knowing a previous pair may recur.
Example:Anna–Omar, Luca–Sofia, Maya–Leo: three pairs.
